I have not touted this service enough, and I’m here to fix that. Truth is, the KS Coffee subscription is the best of all worlds. Every single coffee that gets sent out is extremely unique and stellar. When it comes to coffee subscriptions, I’ve been on the receiving end myself. I’ve tried a few subscription programs, and quite frankly without naming names, I’ve been unimpressed. The coffees I’ve received were either received late, not at all what I’ve selected when given the option to choose roast levels or profiles, or just not unique enough to warrant the up front commitment and expense. Overall, a majority of the coffees I’ve received through other brand name subscriptions have been roasted poorly, running the gamut from baked to underdeveloped to charred, leading to notes including dry biscuit, cereal, vegetal, and ashy. Other times, I received coffees that were clearly the roaster trying to get rid of old green coffee inventory, leaving me with flat, woody, dry cups of coffee. Fed up with this, I wanted to offer a subscription program that’s actually worth what you pay (actually worth more than what you pay, but I wanted to stay competitive with other subscription plans and get some delicious coffees out there).
What you’ll get with the KS Coffee subscription is simple at first glance: Fresh roasted coffee on a monthly basis.
Dive a little deeper, and see what you are truly getting with KS Coffee, that you’ll have a very challenging time finding elsewhere:
-Each coffee is singularly unique, and you will know why when you smell and taste it. Not only do I try to share a little of each farmer’s experience with each shipment, I also want to offer a variety of flavors, whether it’s a particularly interesting coffee variety, experimental processing methods, a particular farm producing high quality coffee in an area not typically known for it, a coffee that is a very good representation of its terroir or origin, etc. It is my goal to choose coffees that are distinct in their flavor profiles so that you (and I) don’t get bored, and so we can journey together to see how utterly vast the coffee spectrum really is!
-While all of the coffees are of exceptional quality, at least one in your subscription will be a reserve offering, ONLY available through the subscription, and not otherwise (unless you come to my house to enjoy a cup of coffee as a friend 😊). For example, within the last six months, I’ve sent out 2 coffees that received global recognition for quality in their country by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, and those are considered regular offerings for KS Coffee. In the next six months, one of the reserve coffees will be Panama Esmeralda Gesha-one of the most sought after award-winning coffees in the world.
-All of the packaging is compostable or reusable, and any packaging adhesives are veggie based. I’ve made it easier for you to cut the waste without sacrificing product quality. How many subscription programs can say that?
-As previously stated, this coffee is fresh roasted. That means, you will get your coffee before a week has passed from roasting. I ship out the day after roasting, and depending on where you live, you might even get it within 3 days of roasting, (when I consider the coffee to be at its prime)
-The frequency of the subscription is monthly or twice per month, depending on your plan. For six months, you don’t even have to think about it, yet if you are a super frequent coffee drinker, you don’t have to be locked in to only KS Coffee. Maybe you sometimes aren’t looking for a single origin, or maybe you find the subscription coffee to have very punchy flavors one month and you want a cup of something mellow one day. With the amount you are getting in the subscription, you get to try lots of amazing coffee over the period of months, but it’s not so much that you feel guilty about getting a cup out, or purchasing some interim beans between shipments.
